Bush’s War on Terror is over!

by jfz 31. March 2009 11:33

We won!!!  Woo hoo!  The Obama Administration has determined that the War on Terror is over.  We won. Let’s all go home.

Well that’s not quite what they said, but to our enemies, the one’s who killed more than 3000 American’s over the last 15 years, it sends a terrible message

According to Hillary and Barry, we forgive you as long as you don’t kill us again and as long as you don’t have “Death to America” bumper stickers on your mule carts.

Join us in a Kumbaya moment as we all join hands in a giant circle that encompasses the Earth to share in cultural diversity, love, friendship and world peace.

DOD mutilation of brass order reversed

by jfz 18. March 2009 12:34

"Dear Loyal Customers,
Thanks to your voice, DOD has rescinded the order to mutilate all spent cases as of 4:30 pm on 3/17/09. We appreciate the time and effort that you expended, together we all made a difference. We will be posting the email we received from DOD as well as any additional information within the next 12-16 hours. Thanks so much and lets get to work!!!"

One Win For Our Side

I’m not sure where this order originally came from, but it was a real hair brain idea.  I’m sure some Obama appointee got in over his head and thought this would be a good way to impress the boss.  Hopefully he’s now looking to flip burgers some where.

Ammunition Registration Bill Pulled from Consideration in Maryland!

by jfz 17. March 2009 18:19

Today, the Maryland State Police issued a request to the House Judiciary Committee to pull House Bill 1446 from consideration.
This bill would have required that any person engaged in the business of selling ammunition maintain extensive records on all sales, including the date of sale, purchaser's full name, address, date of birth, and form of ID used, as well as the type and quantity of ammunition purchased. The bill would have also forced a business that sells ammunition to allow the inspection of the sales record by a law enforcement officer upon request.  HB 1446 was tantamount to firearm registration, would have done nothing to stop crime, and would have only increased the size and bureaucratic scope of the Maryland State Police.

The U.S. Congress tried ammunition registration in the past, only to discover that it was not only ineffective for law enforcement, but also completely unmanageable due to the sheer volume of transactions.  Ammunition registration creates huge record keeping requirements and provides no useful benefits for law enforcement which is why it was repealed by the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986.

The Ultimate in class warfare

by jfz 17. March 2009 11:12

The Obama Administration appears to be taking an even harder Left turn on the latest news that AIG contractees would be receiving $165 Million in bonuses.  Some of the popular suggestions by the Administration is Quit or Commit Suicide, Tax it away from them or have Geithner "pursue every single legal avenue to block these bonuses and make the American taxpayers whole."  Speaking of Geithner, how did this "Turbo Tax" Cheat not know about this weeks ago?  It shows even more that Obama should do the right thing and fire him.  Geithner has never been a good fit for the Administration since the beginning and it’s time for them to cut their losses.  It’s nice to see the party of compassion have such a hardline, Soviet-style attitude towards Big Business.  What’s next, the gas chamber for Jay Walking?

Anti-gun and anti-ammo rumors are flying

by jfz 16. March 2009 12:19

http://www.shootingwire.com/archives/2009-02-20

The US State Department wanted to classify several rounds (5.56, 7.62nato, 7.62x39, etc) as purely 'military' and thus ineligible to export to Canada - as opposed to the rumor which had the roles reversed.

Fortunately it sounds like the Canadians got as pissed as they should have, and the policy has lost steam.

However, the federal government is still up to other shenanigans. Not only is the DOD requiring the military to mutilate spent brass so that it can't be reloaded, even the NPS is also looking to make all their land "lead-free" by 2010, which I guess means no more hunting.

He's simply in over his head and floundering...

Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown

In just about every way possible we see this to be true about Barry and his administration.  He’s just lost. confused and bewildered.

Just remember, no one remembers the name of the person who brought the Titantic to the port, just the name of the Captain who hit the iceberg.

The Obama Administration

Maryland House Judiciary Committee to Hear Ammo Registration Bill

by jfz 6. March 2009 16:04

House Bill 1446, a bill requested by the Maryland State Police to require the registration of ammunition at purchase has passed out of the House Rules & Executive Nominations Committee and re-referred to the House Judiciary Committee for a hearing on March 19 at 1:00 pm.

This bill would require that any person engaged in the business of selling ammunition maintain extensive records on all, including the date of sale, purchaser’s full name, address, date of birth, description of the form of ID used as well as the type and quantity of ammunition purchased. The bill also forces a business that sells ammunition to allow the inspection of the sales record by a law enforcement officer upon request.  HB 1446 is tantamount to firearm registration, will do nothing to stop crime and only increase the size and bureaucratic scope of the Maryland State Police.  If they succeed, they will no doubt be back wanting a background check or license to purchase ammunition as well. This bill must be defeated. If you think ammunition is hard to find now, just wait and see how hard it is to get if this bill passes.

Congress has tried ammunition registration in the past, only to discover that it was not only ineffective for law enforcement, but also completely unmanageable due to the sheer volume of transactions. Ammunition registration creates huge record keeping requirements and provides no useful benefits for law enforcement; which is why it was repealed under the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986.

Typical Liberal response to the increase in gun sales

by jfz 1. March 2009 19:03

As I head out to attend the latest local gun show, I did a little Google research on the increase in gun sales over the last 3+ months.

I found this article.  This is a typical Liberal response to the recent sales increase.  More guns will equal more crime and police shootings.  This is her assumption.  This is their mantra.  More guns = more crime.

She produces a FBI stat that over the last 2 years, instant criminal background checks rose by 36 percent.

But what she doesn’t say is that there wasn’t a 36 percent rise in gun related crime.  If anything it has decreased.  Violent crimes rates in the U.S. have been decreasing since 1991 (two years before the Brady Bill passed which requires these National Instant Criminal Background checks.)  States that have laws delaying the purchase of firearms through waiting periods, mandatory background checks,  purchase permit requirements or license requirements have historically had comparatively higher violent crime rates.

Some opinions as to why the increase in sales have occurred is given in the above article.  In future articles on this blog, I’ll give my real opinion as to the increase in gun and ammo sales.
